Inspired by this Alex Saunders post, we now support video inclusion for the follow platforms:

  • collegehumor
  • ifilm
  • revver
  • soapbox.msn
  • video.ca
  • google
  • youtube

Here's some samples:

[[player=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xLpyMdZWBPw]]
[[player=http://video.google.com/googleplayer.swf?docId=-8329031368429444452&hl=de]] [[player=http://www.collegehumor.com/video:1741589]]
[[player=http://one.revver.com/watch/171939]]
[[player=http://www.ifilm.com/video/2816972]]
[[player=http://www.video.ca/video.php?id=512918697]]
[[player=http://soapbox.msn.com/video.aspx?vid=4adad918-5991-4e44-ba02-c4fd1e24a378]]

Note:

  • these won't all be available until probably Monday morning, when we do our next update
  • I added a '*' after the double brackets to disable inclusion (so we can show you the codes)

New feature coming tomorrow: video inclusion

Video inclusion allows you to easily embed a YouTube or Google Video video in your blog post. It's simple, just add text that looks like this to your blog post:

[[player=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xLpyMdZWBPw]] [[player=http://video.google.com/googleplayer.swf?docId=-8329031368429444452&hl=de]]

Where the http://... part is the page you're seeing the video on. And that's it -- the video will automatically be included in your post.

Have we missed any video services that you like? Drop a comment in this post and tell us what you'd like to see added and we'll see what we can do.

UPDATE: whoops -- there should be two square brackets framing the text. Will investigate...

New feature coming tomorrow: image inclusion

We'll be making it a lot easier tomorrow to add images to your blog posts tomorrow. Just select the "Add Attachments" link (to the right) and upload your image. Automatically, a link that looks like this will be added to your blog post:

    [[image=MyRecordings.png]]

Keep it where it is or move it to where the image is and that's where the image will show up. If you use image=http://..., that particular image will be included on the page. Otherwise, it will assume the image is an uploaded attachment and try to use that.
